Burnet is a perennial herb native to Europe and Asia. It has numerous, edible leaves that are bunched at the base of the plant. There are 7-19 leaflets that reach 3/4" long. During June and July, burnet displays greenish flowers are small in dense heads about 1/2" long. Leaves are used in salads, vinegar and iced drinks. In herbal medicine, burnet leaves are used for an astringent and also as a cure for rheumatism.
